Because I'm such sad trash I really became the nerdy loser through anime. What can I say - I went to middle school during the height of the emo fringe era. You can't seriously expect someone who was a part of that to have started with a classier fandom like Old Hollywood or something.
Search through my watchlist by the year of creation/broadcast. You know you're beyond salvation when you've watched an anime in black & white.
Looking for something based on your own genre tastes? Search for something by various genres.
Major and minor anime studios with their own styles, quality, and evolution. If I've watched something I try to note the studio.
If I've done a proper review of it you'll find it here under whatever grade I've given it. If you have similar tastes to me this might actually be a useful way to find something.
